AFFINITY
a new album by Bad Posture Club
On July 8th, 2025, Bad Posture Club released their most recent album Affinity via Ghost Mountain Records. Expanding their sound beyond the simple acoustic arrangements of previous albums, Affinity is enriched by the soft ambient drone of a 102-year-old acoustic pump organ. Discovered on Facebook Marketplace, the instrument—crafted in Brattleboro, VT in 1923, is an Estey Chaplain’s Organ, designed to perform burial services near battlefields and aboard ships during world wars l and ll.
A century later, Bad Posture Club seeks a similar purpose: to create something transcendent from the raw materials of daily life amidst a chaotic and deeply troubled world.

Bad Posture Club is a queer folk duo made up of Maren Day and Morgan Kavanagh. Originally from Northwestern Washington, they've toured nationally, as well as spent formative years in the Midwest music scene. Together they craft intricate and experimental harmonies with their two voices, banjo, guitar, and a 100 year old pump organ. Bad Posture Club invites the listener to hear the power in quiet, intimate music, and offers warmth and reflection through song. They are currently based in Anacortes, WA.
